Lung ultrasound (LUS) – examination technique

post by Natalia Buda

LUS is a very simple test and to do it properly, just a few hours of exercises on the model (e.g. ask a friend to assist you) is sufficiently enough. The landmarks to which we apply the ultrasound head are similar to those we use during physical examination when auscultation of the lungs. However, one should remember about the differences in the technique of examination resulting from the clinical status and place of the patient's examination, as well as the type of patient (adult, child, newborn), as well as the possibility of cooperation with the patient during the ultrasound examination. Therefore, below we present various technical forms of the examination depending on the patient and his or her clinical condition.
